When I first decided to pursue photography as a career I was questioned quite often.

Why choose photography? My answer was simple…I am happiest when I am creating memories for myself or other people to cherish and look at for a long time to come.

I am not an ordinary photographer. I do not like to be stuck in a stuffy studio with my clients. I prefer to be at their home or favorite spot. Where we can all feel comfortable and we can get to know each other while we are capturing memories.

Let me ask you a question...Have you ever had a snapshot that you caught of your child in action where you thought, “Man this is a lot better than those photos we got last week at such and such photo studio.”

I don’t want that to ever be a thought in your mind in regards to my photos! When I was a young girl and my family went somewhere on vacation I was the one handling the throw away cameras and anxiously awaiting for their return from the photo lab.I am happy to say that I have progressed greatly from the days of throw away cameras.

I now use a Nikon D40x Digital SLR or Canon EOS SLR (for my film photos). I am thoroughly committed to providing you, my clients, with the best photo possible! Now I don’t want to bore you with the technical aspects of the job but in order to make sure your photos are of the best quality I use a variety of programs, including but certainly not limited to Photoshop, light-room, and Corel psp XI. I use studio 11 to make amazing DVD’s using photos from our session and of course your favorite background music!

To me art is the ultimate in self expression. My art is like my diary. When I am not with a client and I am shooting my own photos for retail or just for fun, my photos reflect my feelings of the moment. My photos are like walking up to a complete stranger and handing them my diary and saying, “Here please read this aloud to everyone.” When I am not doing a photo shoot for someone you can usually find me pursuing my other love, nature photos. I am always looking for a new place to take some amazing nature shots.

Another question that people ask me the most why not go into advertising or fashion photography? Isn’t there more money in that field? While yes there might be more money in shooting for magazines and companies, it lacks the on location shoot and the personality. I would be following guidelines and producing something someone wants. I do not like guidelines. I like to let me creativity flow and produce what it may.

Why should you use me for your next family, kids, senior, engagement or wedding photos? Because I am not only a photographer, I am a sister, a daughter, a best friend, and I understand what you want is quality photos of your precious moments, because life passes quickly.
